Influenza (Flu)
FLU VACCINATION 2020
Could you please watch the short youTube video below which walks through how we are going to run our seasonal Flu clinics this year.
Due to the current Covid situation, we are running things a little differently to ensure our patients and staff are safe.
If you are eligible for a flu jab (If you are aged 65 or over or are aged 6 months to under 65 in one of the Clinical "at risk" groups listed), you will shortly receive a letter from the Practice.
Once you receive this letter, please call the surgery and book into one of the upcoming clinics, which start on 3rd October 2020.
You will need to keep your flu letter safe as this will need to be shown to staff when you attend for your flu jab, this is very important.
Thank you for your co-operation in these unprecedented times.
What is Flu?
Flu, short for influenza, is an infectious and common viral illness spread by coughs and sneezes.
It's not the same as the common cold. Flu is caused by a different group of viruses. Symptoms tend to be more severe and last longer.
You can catch flu all year round, but it is especially common in winter, which is why it is also known as "seasonal flu".
