    COVID-19: Practice Service Updates

    Face Masks

    To help protect yourself and our staff, face coverings must now be worn for all appointments here at the Surgery. If you do not have a mask, a scarf or something similar will be fine. Thank you for your co-operation.

    Service Updates

    Further to the update that was published on our website last week, we have reluctantly made the decision to close the front door of the surgery. This is because, despite our best efforts, people with symptoms of suspected coronavirus infection have continued to approach and enter the premises. This resulted in the temporary closure of some areas while we performed a deep-clean.

    Primary Care Extended Access

    A network of GP Practices has been set up across Stafford, Rugeley and the Seisdon area of Staffordshire offering extended opening hours for pre-bookable and same day routine appointments with a healthcare professional (e.g. Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Pharmacist, GP).

    General Information

    All consultations are by appointment only. 

    Our aim is to enable our patients to obtain a routine appointment within 48 hours. 

    Routine appointments are an average of 10 minutes duration and can be booked up to 2 weeks in advance.  If require longer than 10 minutes please advise the receptionist when booking your appointment.  

    The routine appointments are for chronic problems, on-going conditions and some medication reviews. 

    To help meet the increased demand for appointments we have reviewed our booking system for same day requests. 

    All requests for same day appointments will be triaged by one of our clinicians. This will ensure that patients are signposted to the correct pathway ensuring that everyone is dealt with in a timely and appropriate manner.

    When you arrive at the surgery for your appointment, use the self check-in system, or please report to our receptionist. 

    We are constantly monitoring our appointments to enable a better service.

    If you anticipate that you may require an examination by the Doctor and feel that you would like a chaperone to be present, please make reception aware at the time of booking your appointment so that this can be arranged. Alternatively bring along a member of your family or friend to your appointment.

    Cancelling an Appointment

    If you are unable to attend for your appointment we expect at least 24 hours notice, except in extreme cases, so that we are able to offer another patient the use of that appointment.

    We have a STRICT policy for patients who regularly miss their appointments which may ultimately result in the removal of them/their family from the practice list.

    If you cannot keep your appointment with the Doctor or Nurse, please let Reception know in good time:

    1. Patient Access:

    2. Online:
      Use this alternative online cancellation method (no login required).
    3. By Telephone: Please call us on 01785 242172 and tell the receptionist.
    4. By Fax: Please send us a fax on 01785 253889.
    5. In Person: Call into the surgery and let the receptionist know in person.

    We can offer your appointment to someone else and therefore help to reduce waiting times.
